Bobby Massie: ‘The Super Bowl is coming’ to the Bears

The Chicago Bears are setting the bar high for 2019.

Their breakout 12-4 season ended with a disappointment in the wildcard round of the playoffs, and right tackle Bobby Massie wants better out of next season.

That’s why he re-signed with the Bears on a five-year deal.

“It meant the world to me to get it done because I didn’t want to leave Chicago,” Massie said on Bears All-Access. “This team is going to be good. The Super Bowl is coming to this team and I just didn’t want to leave Chicago on that note.”

He credited a lot of his success from this season to new offensive line coach Harry Hiestand, who brought a strong reputation to Chicago.

“He’s one of the best coaches I’ve ever had,” Massie said. “He doesn’t care what year you are or how much money you make; he’s going to bring the best out of you.”

Hiestand brought the best out of the right tackle and helped earn him the $40 million contract.

The Bears will need more of the same from their right tackle if they’re going to bring the Lombardi Trophy to Chicago.
