Bobby Madden will take charge of Celtic vs Rangers next month as the SFA rethink the referee schedule.
The clash between the Premiership 's top two was initially due to be played on January 2, with Willie Collum appointed for that one.
However, the advent of new Scottish Government restrictions on crowd sizes saw the top flight winter break brought forward so the game could be played in front of fans.
And the change in the calendar has also brought a change in referee as Madden takes charge of the big derby game.
The whistler's last Old Firm clash saw Rangers beat their rivals 2-0 in the Scottish Cup last term, thanks to a Steven Davis strike and a Jonjoe Kenny own goal.
However, he has not taken charge of a league meeting since the infamous match of September 2019 which saw Celtic take a 2-0 win at Ibrox.
Jonny Hayes and Odsonne Edouard got the goals but the match is perhaps best remembered for Jordan Jones' wild tackle on Moritz Bauer which earned him a red card and also saw him rupture his own cruciate ligament.
That was the last league match Celtic won against Rangers, but it remains to be seen if next month's fixture goes ahead as scheduled.
The hosts could have up to six players away on international duty and, under SPFL rules, can ask for a postponement.
