Bobby Duncan sends message to old club Manchester City after Liverpool Youth Cup win

Bobby Duncan scored an heroic goal for Liverpool's under-18s on Thursday night against his former club Manchester City in the FA Youth Cup.

The young striker, who has notched 32 goals in all competitions this season, made it 1-1 late on to take the tie into extra time.

And after a thrilling encounter Liverpool were eventually crowned champions after winning 5-3 on penalties.

The 17-year-old showed his class both on and off the field as following the game he sent a respectful message to his old club.

Duncan, who is the cousin of Reds' legend Steven Gerrard, wrote: "I just want to pay my respect to Man City Academy and all the staff and players who have been on my journey it was a great game with 2 top teams!"

The post which was shared to Twitter has been liked over 2,000 times.

The highly rated forward made the switch from City to Liverpool last summer and has been instrumental to Barry Lewtas's side's success.
