Bobby Duncan's agent Saif Rubie releases fresh statement as he completes Liverpool exit

Bobby Duncan's agent Saif Rubie has hailed the young forward a "leader" after he completed a transfer to Fiorentina from Liverpool.

The Reds had initially rejected a loan bid from the Serie A club for Duncan, prompting an outburst from his agent, who accused Liverpool of "bullying" his client.

Liverpool labelled the comments as "unfounded allegations" in a statement and later accepted a £1.8million bid from Fiorentina to sign the teenager permanently.

Upon Duncan completing his transfer Rubie posted an image of himself alongside the forward, who is cousins with Steven Gerrard, to Instagram.

"To be in the top 1 per cent you have to be prepared to do what 99 per cent of the rest won't do," wrote Rubie. "In my line of work I know nobody even comes near.

"Not everything in life is black and white and you have to be able to adapt and roll with the punches.

"Now Bobby Duncan has the opportunity to live and experience something not many young English players have done.

"That's what leaders do. We are not followers. Thanks to all the people who have supported me in this difficult period [it] means a lot.

"The joy of getting the job done makes all the struggle and doubt worthwhile. PS. [Kevin] Prince Boateng you better look after our little brother."

Duncan, meanwhile, took to Twitter after his transfer was confirmed to announce his delight.

He tweeted: "Over the line! Really happy to sign for Fiorentina and even more excited to get started. Can't wait to play in front of all the fans and experience the Italian culture. Thanks to all the fans for the messages!"
