Bobby Duncan completes permanent Fiorentina transfer from Liverpool

Liverpool have confirmed youngster Bobby Duncan has left the club for Fiorentina.

Duncan, 18, had wanted to leave on loan to secure first-team football but the Reds had blocked a move.

That led to his agent launching an astonishing attack on the club and sporting director Michael Edwards.

Duncan's agent claimed the teenager had been bullied by the Reds and their treatment had left him unable to leave the house.

Liverpool have agreed a £1.9million move for Duncan plus a 20 per cent sell-on clause.

The Reds have made a healthy profit on Duncan and the youth striker, who is Steven Gerrard’s cousin, cost them £200,000 from Manchester City last year.

The news was confirmed just before the Italian transfer deadline by Liverpool.

Duncan scored 32 times at academy level for Liverpool following his move from City a year ago.

He featured in five pre-season friendlies for Jurgen Klopp's side, scoring in the victory over Tranmere.

But he wanted to leave on loan, with Liverpool rejecting a loan approach from Fiorentna and FC Nordsjaelland.

His agent Saif Rubie has launched an explosive accusation at the club, insisting Duncan will never return.

"Bobby has not left his room for four days because of this and will never go back to Liverpool again and my only concern now is his mental health and well being," he said.

"It's a sad state of affairs that a club such as a Liverpool can be allowed to get away with mentally bullying and destroying the life of a young man such as Bobby."
