Bobby Duncan breaks his silence after completing transfer to Fiorentina from Liverpool

Bobby Duncan says he is "really happy" to sign for Fiorentina and "more excited" to get started following his summer transfer from Liverpool.

The Serie A club had an initial offer to loan Duncan for the season rejected by Liverpool, prompting an outburst from his agent Saif Rubie, who accused the Anfield club of "bullying" the young forward.

Liverpool rejected Rubie's claims, labelling his comments as "unfounded allegations" and accepting a £1.8million transfer bid for Duncan from Fiorentina.

On Tuesday Duncan took to Twitter after completing his transfer to express his delight.

"Over the line! Really happy to sign for Fiorentina and even more excited to get started," tweeted the teenager, who is cousins with Steven Gerrard.

"Can't wait to play in front of all the fans and experience the Italian culture. Thanks to all the fans for the messages!"

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher became embroiled in a Twitter spat with Duncan's agent shortly after Rubie released an explosive statement making allegations against the Reds.

The Sky Sports pundit tweeted: "I think Bobby Duncan should leave this guy before he gets sacked by the club."

He then added that he felt Liverpool "would never deal with" Rubie again after the outburst.

Liverpool later released a response to the allegations of bullying made against the club.

It read: "Liverpool Football Club is aware and disappointed by the unattributed comments and unfounded allegations that have been made in the media regarding one of our players.

"As the interests of the player in question are not best served by either inaccurate speculation, inflammatory statements or public discourse, we will be making no further comment

"We will, however, continue our efforts to work privately with the player to find resolution in the best interests of all involved."
