Bobby Duncan agent Saif Rubie releases statement explaining role in Liverpool transfer

Bobby Duncan's agent Saif Rubie has declared "nobody even comes near" to his abilities as a representative and he expressed his "joy" at getting the player out of Liverpool.

Rubie prompted controversy last week when he launched an astonishing attack on the Reds and sporting director Michael Edwards in particular.

Among a number of allegations - which prompted a strong response from Liverpool - was that the Duncan was being kept at the club against his will after the Reds turned down an offer from Fiorentina.

However, Liverpool on Monday finally agreed a deal with the Serie A side worth £1.8million, with the player signing a three-year deal.

And, in a post of Instagram, Rubie could barely contain his delight at ensuring Duncan's transfer became a reality while praising himself and his own work.

"To be in the top 1% you have to be prepared to do what 99% of the rest won't do," wrote Rubie.

"In my line of work I know nobody even comes near. Not everything in life is black and white and you have to be able to adapt and roll with the punches.

"Now @bobbyduncan has the opportunity to live and experience something not many young English players have done.

"That's what leaders do. We are not followers.

"Thanks to all the people who have supported me in this difficult period means a lot.

"The joy of getting the job done makes all the struggle and doubt worthwhile."
