Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell accuse Strictly judges of ‘disheartening and confusing’ scoring

Strictly Come Dancing's Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell have voiced their frustration over the judges’ “confusing” scoring this series.

The EastEnders actor, 20, and the Australian professional dancer, 34, who are firm fan favourites, opened up about their experience on the BBC dance competition while appearing on spin-off show, Strictly: It Takes Two.

Buswell explained that had found it difficult to advise Brazier on how he can improve on the dancefloor because the judges have given such mixed feedback.

She said: “As the professionals we’re always trying to help our celebrity in any way we can, so taking those judges’ comments onboard is something that I always do – but when there are so many different comments you’re like, ‘I don’t which way to go [or] how to help Bobby!’

“Sometimes it can be confusing for the celebrity, but I guess we just take a little bit from all of them.”

Host Janette Manrara remarked that Buswell had looked particularly deflated by the judges comments after she and Brazier had performed an Argentine Tango during last week’s show.Buswell replied that it was actually the scores that had left her disheartened, with Brazier adding: “Especially when the comments are so good.

“There have been a few times when the comments have seemed really positive and then maybe not so reflected in the score.”

Spare an extra thought for the pair this week, as they have been deemed at risk of succumbing to the new Strictly “curse”.

The dynamic dance duo are set to perform an American Smooth, which according to statistics, has been the “dance of doom” as this year, four out of the six couples that have danced it so far were subsequently eliminated the following week.
