A teenager who went missing in Plymouth may have been abducted and killed by a stranger.
Police confirmed there are no known links between Bobbi-Anne McLeod and a man arrested on suspicion of her murder.
Ms McLeod, 18, was last seen at a bus stop at around 6pm on Saturday evening near her home in Leigham, Plymouth, on her way to meet a friend in the town centre.
A body, believed to be that of Ms McLeod, was found at Bovisand on Tuesday afternoon, around seven miles from where she was last seen.
Police have been granted more time to question a 24-year-old man being held in custody on suspicion of murder, Assistant Chief Constable Nikki Leaper of Devon and Cornwall Police said.
“I can confirm that at this time, there is no known link between the suspect and victim and I would like to reassure the public that at this time, we are not seeking anyone else in relation to this matter,” said ACC Leaper.
A second man, 26, who was previously arrested on suspicion of murder was released from police custody having been eliminated from the enquiry.
Ms McLeod’s brother, Lee McLeod, previously paid a moving tribute to his “beautiful sister” on social media.
Sharing an emotional picture of them together as children, he wrote: “Until we meet again sis. I love you. You didn’t deserve this. Such a beautiful and talented girl.
“To have you as my sister, the adventure we have been on will always be treasured. Now go rest easy sis.”
