Bob Saget wrote about death days before his passing in tribute to Betty White

US comedian Bob Saget wrote about death in a tribute to his pal Betty White just days before he suddenly died at the age of 65.

Bob, who is best-known for playing Danny Tanner on the ABC sitcom Full House, paid a heartfelt tribute to Betty shortly before he passed away on Sunday in a hotel in Orlando, Florida, whilst on a stand-up tour.

Just before the New Year, the actor shared an emotional message about Golden Girls actress Betty - who sadly died before reaching her 100th birthday - over on his Instagram.

Bob dedicated the post to her late husband Allen Ludden, who Betty lost in 1981.

"Well if things work out by Betty's design— in the afterlife, they are reunited," Bob began in his post.

"I don’t know what happens when we die, but if Betty says you get to be with the love of your life, then I happily defer to Betty on this."

He concluded: "Betty White. My God, we will miss you."

On New Year's Eve, TMZ reported Betty had died of natural causes at home, just weeks before her 100th birthday on January 17.

Ahead of his death, Bob had been touring the US, with recent dates taking him to venues in Florida. He performed at a show in Jacksonville on Saturday night and later tweeted about the audience.

He commented in a post on Twitter : "Loved tonight's show @PV_ConcertHall in Jacksonville. Appreciative audience. Thanks again to @RealTimWilkins for opening. I had no idea I did a 2 hr set tonight. I'm happily addicted again to this sh*t."

Bob is best known for playing widowed father Danny Tanner in sitcom Full House. His on-screen daughters were played by Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin as well as twins Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen.

He was also the host of America's Funniest Home Videos from 1989 to 1997 and voiced the future Ted Mosby on CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother from 2005 to 2014.

His other credits include appearing in several episodes of Entourage and he took part in the Masked Singer in 2020 - in which he performed as Squiggly Monster.
