Bob Quinn shot down any Lions interest in Kareem Hunt: ‘I want good people in this organization’

Kareem Hunt signed with the Cleveland Browns on Monday, ending any chance the Detroit Lions would sign the controversial running back. Hunt was dumped by the Kansas City Chiefs last fall after a video of him shoving and kicking a woman in a Cleveland hotel surfaced.

In an event for season-ticket holders, Lions GM Bob Quinn addressed the team’s lack of interest in signing Hunt, who was the NFL’s leading rusher as a rookie in 2017. When asked about any pursuit of Hunt by Detroit, Quinn quickly shot it down.

“We evaluate every player on the field and off the field and in this case, we talked about internally,” Quinn said during the event. “It was just a player that we didn’t feel comfortable bringing to the Lions for numerous issues, and I stand by that. That’s my word and I want good players and I want good people in this organization.”
