Bob Quinn not ready to give up on Teez Tabor just yet

Teez Tabor was a hot topic of conversation for Detroit Lions GM Bob Quinn in his press conference here at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine. And it’s clear the GM isn’t ready to cut his losses with the third-year cornerback just yet.

Tabor has played poorly when he’s played at all in his first two seasons in Detroit. The 2017 second-round pick has been a healthy scratch often, even with the team struggling to field capable bodies at his position, Tabor allowed a perfect QB Rating when opponents threw in his direction in 2018.

Even so, Quinn showed confidence in Tabor in his answers.

“I still have faith in him,” Quinn said of the former Florida cornerback. “We’re not giving up on him.”

Later, Quinn reiterated his support for Tabor as a potential solution for the team’s hole opposite Pro Bowler Darius Slay at corner.

“He’s a guy we’re counting on to get better.”

He will need to if he wants to remain in Detroit, but based on Quinn’s press conference here, Tabor will get one more chance to prove himself.
