Bob Quinn checks out Georgia’s pro day

On the heels of the massive event that was the Alabama pro day, the Crimson Tide’s SEC rival Georgia Bulldogs held their prospect showcase on Wednesday. Lions GM Bob Quinn made the small commute from Tuscaloosa to Athens to take in the top Bulldogs prospects.

There were two primary draws from a Lions perspective: cornerback Deandre Baker and wide receiver Mecole Hardman.

Baker improved upon an underwhelming combine speed display by clocking in the 4.43 to 4.46 range in the 40-yard dash. He also looked lithe in position drills:

Hardman fits the role of the quicker-than-fast, but also quite fast, slot receiver. He met with the Lions during the combine and does have some Golden Tate to his game, though in a smaller package.

Some other Bulldogs who might interest Quinn and the Lions come draft weekend:

OL Lamont Gaillard, a middle-round center the Lions met with during Shrine Game week
WR Terry Godwin
RB Elijah Holyfield
DE Jonathan Ledbetter
TE Isaac Nauta
WR Riley Ridley
Edge D’Andre Walker
