Bob Odenkirk is in a stable condition in hospital after collapsing while filming the final season of AMC’s Better Call Saul.
The actor, 58, was rushed to a New Mexico hospital Wednesday an ambulance. The circumstances leading up to the collapse are not known.
A representative for the Breaking Bad star said: “We can confirm Bob is in stable condition after experiencing a heart-related incident.
“He and his family would like to express gratitude for the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, as well as his cast, crew and producers who have stayed by his side. The Odenkirks would also like to thank everyone for the outpouring of well wishes and ask for their privacy at this time as Bob works on his recovery.”
Bob’s son, Nate Odenkirk, also appeared to optimistic about his dad's heath, when he said in a tweet on Wednesday afternoon “he’s going to be okay”.
A host of fans and celebrity friends of Bob have shared their support after hearing the news.
His former co-star Bryan, who played drugs kingpin Walter White in Breaking Bad, said the shock news had left him 'anxious' as he asked fans to keep his co-star Bob in their thoughts.
Bryan, 65, said that Bob's condition was 'not known to the public yet', adding that he is still receiving medical attention.
Posting a photo alongside Bob to Instagram, Bryan wrote: "Today I woke up to news that has made me anxious all morning. My friend, Bob Odenkirk collapsed last night on the set of Better Call Saul.
Odenkirk has been nominated for four Emmys for playing the title character, an unsuccessful lawyer named Jimmy McGill who becomes increasingly corrupt and greedy and later adopts the pseudonym Saul Goodman.
He previously worked as a comedy writer for Saturday Night Live and The Ben Stiller Show, in which he took on a variety of roles.
Better Call Saul, the spin-off prequel to Breaking Bad, has been shooting its sixth and final season, which is due to air on US network AMC next year.
