Bob MacIntyre recovers from disaster at The Open to seal impressive top 10 finish

Bob MacIntyre bagged an impressive top 10 finish at The Open when he looked to be heading for serious trouble.

The left-hander from Oban sealed a second top-ten Open finish from two appearances with an impressive recovery at the tournament brilliantly won by Collin Morikawa.

The Scot faced an uphill battle when, after back to back birdies, he found himself in serious trouble at the 14th hole.

The 24-year-old was dealt a major blow as his foot slipped as he hit his drive, with the ball slicing miserably out of bounds on the right.

However, he dusted himself down to send his approach to kick-in distance from 120 yards and in the end only suffered a bogey.

He rounded off his day with four pars to sign for an impressive 67, ending his tournament on -7.

It's a sign of a huge future ahead of the world No.53, who won his first European Tour title in Cyprus last year, that he has made every Major cut so far in his career.
