Bob Geldof is sick of hearing 'Do They Know it's Christmas Time' in supermarkets

Anyone fed up with being subjected to "Do They Know It's Christmas?" repeatedly once December hits is not alone. Bob Geldof’s patience is wearing thin too.

The outspoken Boomtown Rats singer says he has no regrets about writing the song because it raised millions of pounds. Geldof remains apathetic to anyone who does level criticism at him: “My response is I don't give a f***”.

He is, however, sick of hearing it in supermarkets, according to The Irish Independent. Geldof told students at Trinity College on Thursday: “I'm really, really, really glad that we wrote that little tune.

“But what I'm not really glad about is when I go to f**king Tesco and you always get a clip of Paul McCartney s**t and you always get a clip of 'Do They Know It's Christmas?’”

Geldof also delivered a scathing assessment of the EU despite being one of the most high-profile Remain campaigners during the EU referendum. “Europe needs reform - it is sclerotic,” he said. “The whole system is constipated. It needs a laxative to clear it out.”
