Bob Geldof dropped F-bomb in front of Harry and Meghan during One Young World speech

Sir Bob Geldof gave a fiery speech during the opening ceremony of the One Young World summit, as he dropped the F-bomb in front of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The legendary musician, 70, attended the opening ceremony in Manchester on Monday (September 5) and gave a speech urging young people to fight against climate change.

While on stage, he commented on the choice of music and ended up swearing in front of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Bob said: "There's no denying that the joy we celebrated with all those flags with frankly the best soundtrack that One Young World have come up with in the 28,000 years that we've been doing this, finally catered to some different record other than Pink Floyd or whatever the f*** that is."

He added the summit was taking place in "the most powerless times we've ever come together in."

Guests laughed as the Boomtown Rats singer continued his speech, with many taking to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One person wrote: "Love bob geldof, his speach was brilliant."

"I thought Bob Geldof gave an excellent speech - I’m surprised no one it reviewing it, as it was so informative, engaging and, in places funny. Brilliant," added a second."

A third person said: "This was a fantastic start! Loved the speech by Sir Bob Geldof!"

Bob's speech came just before Meghan took to the stage to declare the opening of the event.

The Duchess of Sussex, who is a counsellor for One Young World, told the audience: "It is very nice to be back in the UK.

"As you’ll likely hear many times this week…you’ll hear all sorts of things, some very heavy, some very uplifting, but the resounding spirit I believe you’ll hear is that you are the future.

"But I would like to add to that, that you are also the present.

"You are the ones driving positive and necessary change needed across the globe now in this very moment and for that, I am so grateful to be in your company today."

Meghan also spoke about the first time she was asked to be a counsellor in 2014.

She said: "There I was, the girl from Suits. I was surrounded by world leaders, humanitarians, prime ministers and activists that I had such a deep and long-standing respect and admiration for.

"And I was allowed in, to pull up a seat at the table. I was so overwhelmed by this experience."
