Bob Dylan sued for alleged sexual abuse of girl, 12, 'after giving her drugs and alcohol'

Bob Dylan is being sued for allegedly abusing a 12-year-old girl in the sixties.

The Like a Rolling Stone singer has been hit by a civil lawsuit alleging that he plied the girl with drugs and alcohol before sexually abusing her at his Chelsea Hotel apartment in 1965.

It is alleged that Dylan used his fame to groom, gain the trust of and control the victim "as part of his plan to sexually molest and abuse" her, according to the Manhattan Supreme Court papers, which only identify the plaintiff as "J.C."

J.C. has accused Dylan, whose real name is Robert Allen Zimmerman, of assault, battery, false imprisonment and infliction of emotional distress.

A spokesman for Bob Dylan told The Mirror: "The 56-year-old claim is untrue and will be vigorously defended."

The 81-year-old has not been arrested in relation to the allegations

The papers state: "Bob Dylan, over a six-week period between April and May of 1965 befriended and established an emotional connection with the plaintiff."

J.C., who now lives in Greenwich, Connecticut, claims in her 13-page lawsuit that the toll of the alleged abuse has been lasting and she has had to seek long term medical treatment for them.

The lawsuit alleges Dylan established the "connection" to "lower [J.C.'s] inhibitions with the object of sexually abusing her, which he did, coupled with the provision of drugs, alcohol and threats of physical violence, leaving her emotionally scarred and psychologically damaged to this day."

The alleged abuse occurred multiple times, and some of the incidents took place at the famed Chelsea Hotel, the court documents seen by the Mirror claim.

According to the filing, J.C. says the emotional effects of the abuse have been long-lasting and that she has had to seek medical treatment for them.

The papers, filed in Manhattan Supreme Court on Friday, claim the women suffered “severer emotional and psychological distress, humiliation, fright, disassociation, anger, depress anxiety, personal turmoil and loss of faith.”

The suits claims the emotional effects "are of a permanent and lasting natures and have incapacitated plaintiff from attending her regular activities."

J.C. is seeking unspecified damages and a jury trial.

Her lawyer, Daniel Isaacs, told The Post by phone Monday, "The complaint speaks for itself."

In 1965 Dylan was enjoying huge success, releasing critically-acclaimed albums Bringing It All Back Home and Highway 61 Revisited that year alone.

The suit was filed on Friday before a deadline for historic claims of childhood abuse ended on Saturday.

Although the statute of limitations had initially passed for her allegations against Dylan, JC used New York's 2019 Child Victims Act, which allowed survivors of childhood sexual abuse to file claims regardless of when the abuse was alleged to have occurred.
