Bob Arum proposes mega-fight between Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte in the UK

Bob Arum believes Tyson Fury could pursue a clash with Dillian Whyte in the UK after his trilogy with Deontay Wilder.

The 'Gypsy King' is set to take on Wilder for the third time next month, after the fight was postponed from July due to a coronavirus outbreak.

And most likely, the 33-year-old would have attempted to challenge Anthony Joshua before his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.

But he could now seek a domestic showdown with Whyte according to Arum, who is confident that a "huge fight" could be made in the UK.

“I don’t know I haven’t spoken to Mauricio yet we will have to see,” Arum told IFL TV. “I assume you are talking about Dillian Whyte who is the number one contender.

"And that could be a big, big fight for Tyson, particularly if we held it in UK. That is not out of the question, Dillian Whyte is a capable heavyweight and a fight against Tyson Fury or Wilder whoever wins would be a very interesting fight.”

Fury was already set to face Joshua in Saudi Arabia this year, but it was enforced by arbitration court that he would seek another victory against the 'Bronze Bomber'.

But it now looks unlikely he will face his arch rival, as he pursues an immediate rematch with Usyk in a mission to regain his belts.

The 'Gypsy King' has now flown to America for his latest Las Vegas appearance, over a year and a half on from his historic victory.

And he is confident that the referee "saved" Wilder's life by stopping the fight, which he forced in the seventh stanza.

“The moment rose, it happened again and he ended up going down again with so many punches,” Fury told BT Sport Box Office.

“The final stoppage one was where I was catching him clean, I believe the referee actually saved his life that night and saved his career.

“It was just like 'I told you so', and I am back where I belong and that’s it. There was no big miracle shock, it was like I was back where I was supposed to be at the top of the game, rated number one and back beating guys I wasn’t supposed to be beating.

“Physically and emotionally I have managed to push myself and come back from places I didn’t know if I could, but it was a tough ride and I have enjoyed every minute of it."

Fury has refused his second coronavirus vaccine in order to prevent further disruption to his already rescheduled clash with Wilder.

And his latest ring outing is part of a four-fight plan, where he plans to take on Joshua, Whyte and a rematch with Derek Chisora.

However Fury's co-promoter Frank Warren has now appeared to rule out any future clash with former unified champion Joshua.

The 33-year-old has been tipped to also be defeated by Usyk in any potential clash by former cruiserweight king Steve Cunningham.
