Bob Arum makes Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao rematch prediction

Legendary promoter Bob Arum reckons Manny Pacquiao would have the beating of Floyd Mayweather Jr if a rematch came to fruition.

Mayweather outpointed Pacquiao in a money-spinning bout back in 2015 and there has now been fresh speculation they could step inside the ring again.

The duo have become embroiled in a war of words on social media, each accusing one another of living off their names.

Mayweather was at ringside as Pacquiao rolled back the years to outpoint Keith Thurman and end his unbeaten record in Las Vegas last month.

He is now pushing to try and become the first man to defeat Mayweather by tempting him back into the ring.

Top Rank chief Arum believes the fight makes sense from a business standpoint - but he is adamant Pacquiao would ensure there is a different outcome at the second time of asking.

Arum told Fighthub: "If that fight happens, then it’s probably worth it to do, because that would be a big, big, big fight,.

"Manny Pacquiao would win now.”

Despite declaring a rematch with Mayweather would be a huge event, Arum reckons the 40-year-old Filipino should consider hanging up his gloves if the fight does not happen.

"He got the win [against Keith Thurman]. He went out on a big note," he declared.

"I would recommend that this is the time for him to hang it up. But listen, he makes his own choices."

Immediately after beating Thurman, Pacquiao called out Mayweather and posted: ".@FloydMayweather You come to my fight and then use my name in a post but I’m the one that is trying to stay relevant? If you want to be relevant again... #MayPac2."
