A rescue mission is under way after a small boat made a distress call in waters south of Eden.

The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter located the boat on Monday afternoon on the NSW Far South Coast, after its occupants activated their emergency beacon.
The service said it appeared the boat had two people on board and had lost its engine.
It said the boat was taking on water but a pump was coping with the influx.
Marine Area Command has arrived on scene.
