
A person has died despite resuscitation efforts after a boat capsized off Wollongong with six others aboard.
Police say emergency personnel were called to waters off Waniora Point at Bulli, south of Sydney, after reports of a vessel overturning, shortly before 10.30am on Sunday.
Officers from Wollongong attended and with the assistance of Surf Life Savers and Marine Area Command police, seven people were retrieved and taken ashore.
Rescuers performed CPR on four of them until the arrival of paramedics.
One person could not be revived and died at the scene.
The three others are being treated and are expected to be taken to hospital.
Their conditions are not yet known.
