Boardmasters 2019: Man lists 200,000 toilet rolls for sale as festival cancelled

Thousands of music fans were left disappointed when Boardmasters festival was cancelled due to severe weather.

The Newquay event was due to start on Wednesday (August 7) but was called off at the last minute, at around 11pm the previous day.

But one man has sought to make light of the news, by listing 200,000 loo rolls for sale.

Nick Smith, director at NRS Transport, delivered toilets to the site, along with the toilet paper, Cornwall Live reports

After hearing about the festival being called off, he took a snap of the rolls and listen them as being 'for sale' on Facebook, saying they should be collected from Newquay.

He said: "I deliver all the toilets into Boardmasters - we were stood around this morning and I took the photo.

"All the toilets and toilet rolls had been delivered for Andy Loos who is the main contractor.

"We’ve now started the big clear out of 850 toilets to Beautiful Days festival at Honiton."

The festival organisers said the event was cancelled "following full consultation with all of the relevant authorities including independent safety advisors, Devon and Cornwall Police, emergency services and the Met Office" for safety reasons.
