Bo Nix gets ‘the call,’ asks Broncos: ‘You wanna win a Super Bowl?’

After the Denver Broncos picked Oregon quarterback Bo Nix in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft on Thursday evening, the Ducks shared video of the QB getting “the call” from his new NFL team.

“Yes, sir, I appreciate it,” Nix says on the phone, presumably speaking to general manager George Paton. “Absolutely, you wanna win a Super Bowl? All right. Let’s go.”

Broncos coach Sean Payton then spoke to the QB.

“Coach Payton, what’s up?” Nix said. “You ready to roll?”

His friends and family then turn their attention to the TV as NFL commissioner Rodger Goodwell announced: “With the 12th pick in the 2024 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select Bo Nix, quarterback.” The ensuing reaction went about as one would expect:

Nix wore No. 10 at Auburn to begin his college career and again at Oregon to end his college career, but that number was just taken by fellow QB Zach Wilson, who the Broncos traded for earlier this week.

Unless the rookie convinces one of his new teammates to change numbers, the only QB number available for Nix in Denver is No. 16. You can pre-order his jersey now, with his exact number still to be determined.

Nix will report for rookie minicamp next month. Broncos fans will get their first look at the quarterback when training camp begins in July, followed by preseason in August.
