BMW wrecked after it bursts into flames on the M4

A car has been wrecked after it burst into flames on the M4 near Bridgend.

The incident happened on Thursday night on the eastbound stretch of the motorway between junctions 35 and 34.

Police and fire crews attended the scene and the car was removed from the side of the road by a recovery vehicle.

An image taken once the blaze had been extinguished shows the scale of the damage, with the BMW involved sustaining substantial damage after the fire ripped through the front part of the car.

South Wales Police said the owner of the car was in a state of shock to "lose his precious BMW", but it’s understood that nobody was injured as a result of the fire.
