BMW smashes into fish and chip shop in north Bristol

Two men have been arrested after a BMW smashed into a fish and chip shop in north Bristol.

Police were called to the crash on Ashley Down Road, Bristol, at about 10.40pm on Tuesday (June 9).

Officers found a black BMW X1 had collided with the shop front of Ashley Fish Bar.

Pictures from the scene show the eatery's window had been smashed in the collision.

Two men found with injuries nearby were taken to hospital and released after treatment.

The pair, in their 20s, were arrested on suspicion of drink driving and taking a vehicle without consent and remain in police custody.

The incident happened on Tuesday night (Bristol Live)

An Avon and Somerset police spokesperson said: "Enquiries continue and if you saw the collision or have any other information which could help get in touch through the website or call 101 quoting reference 5220125994."
