A BMW skidded off the motorway in heavy downpours - and was hit by another car that did the exact same thing just minutes later.
Police have warned drivers to drive according to the weather conditions after the two vehicles aquaplaned in the same spot on the M62 just moments apart.
Traffic officers shared an image showing the aftermath of the collision.
They explained that the BMW was on the hard shoulder after aquaplaning, when it was hit by a second vehicle which also lost control due to water on the carriageway.

Officers described the drivers as being lucky, and asked: "How many times do we tell people to drive to the conditions!?"
The collision happened on the westbound carriageway of the M62 close to junction 21 on Thursday night.
