BMW expands its DriveNow car service across five more London boroughs

Drivers who only occasionally need a car in London can now hire BMWs and Minis in five more boroughs through sharing service DriveNow.

The company is adding 410 new cars to its fleet as of Friday, bringing the total available in the capital to 720.

Those using the company can take cars away and pay by the minute, hour or daily with everything included.

James Taylor, managing director for DriveNow in the UK, said: “We hope that car sharing, alongside other sustainable transport options such as walking, cycling and public transport, will continue to be embraced by Londoners to help reduce congestion and pollution and build a more liveable city.”

An announcement from the company adds that it hopes to reduce air pollution in London, with more electric vehicles also planned to be available.

Westminster, Barnet, Tower Hamlets, Southwark and Brent are the five new areas.

They join Hackney, Haringey, Islington, and Waltham Forest.
