A BMW driver with no insurance was arrested after setting off 32 speed cameras on the M6.
The motorist hit 83mph in the 60mph roadworks between Junctions 14 and 15 of the motorway on Monday, November 30.
The incident took place in the early hours of the morning, when officers from the Central Motorway Policing Group (CMPG) were forced to pursue the white car in thick fog.
The driver was eventually stopped and arrested and the BMW was seized, Stoke on Trent Live reports.
Police made inquiries and discovered the motorist was not insured and two of the tyres were bald.
The minimum penalty points for speeding is three with a £100 fine - meaning the BMW driver could be hit with a total of 96 penalty points and a £3,200 fine.

The CMPG tweeted a picture of the car and said: "M6 J14-J15 BMW stopped due to activating 32 speed cameras at very high speeds in @StaffsPolice.
"Whilst we were following it we recorded its average speed of 83mph in the roadworks 60s in thick fog.
"Driver detained & BMW seized no insurance & #PG9 x2 bald tyres."

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "We received a call to recover a white BMW 6 Series car from Keele Services on the M6 which had been stopped and found to have no insurance.
"Officers attended and the vehicle was recovered at about 1.30am."
