BMW driver seen speeding was actually heroin and crack dealer coining in thousands of pounds

A BMW driver who was spotted speeding was actually a heroin and crack dealer coining in thousands of pounds, a court has heard.

Billy Jones, 24, of Twyn Carmel, Merthyr Tydfil, was driving his red BMW at speed along Goytre Lane back in March when he was spotted by a traffic officer who followed him to Twelth Avenue before pulling him over.

Jones was searched and in the lining of his jacket the officer found a package containing drugs. More drugs were also found in the boot and beneath the passenger seat of his car.

In total crack cocaine and heroin worth approximately £10,000 was seized.

On November 19, Jones appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court and was jailed for three years after pleading guilty to possessing crack cocaine with intent to supply, possessing heroin with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine.

Detective Sergeant Lia Jones, said: “He was selling significant amounts class A drugs and in doing so fuelling the misery of addiction and crime which rips apart families and destroys communities.

“Day and night, officers carry out patrols on the lookout for those who are linked to drug dealing. This was great work by the officer.”
