BMW driver, 18, dies after crash on M4 near Swindon

An 18-year-old has died following a crash on the M4.

The BMW driver hit a crash barrier between junctions 14 and 15 in the early hours of the morning (April 7).

Wiltshire Police were called to the scene and confirmed the driver sadly died.

The motorway was closed in both directions - the westbound carriageway remained shut as of 10am but is due to open soon.

The police force tweeted: "An 18-year-old male driver has died following a road traffic collision on the M4 at around 1.30 this morning.

"The BMW was travelling westbound when it collided with a crash barrier between Membury & J15.

"The eastbound carriageway is now open; westbound is due to open soon."

South Western Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.
