Bluestone unveils its new Serendome attraction set to open this summer

The huge indoor dome at Bluestone will open on July 19, 2019.

Described by the Pembrokeshire resort as a UK first, the venue has a transparent canopy arched over a massive 7,000 square metre area encompassing cafes, shops, activities and a 400-seat amphitheatre.

It has been named Serendome - Seren is Welsh for star - and is around a 15 minute walk from the centre of the Bluestone village.

The use of Serendome will be exclusively for guests at the resort.

Inside there will be a range of activities both paid and complimentary.

What will it offer?

Wacky Racers: As a family you’ll race against the clock to put together and decorate your very own race kart. Once complete you’ll put it to the test against the other competitors. (8+ years alone, 3+ with adult, £18 per cart )

StarCatcher: Guests can scale a 10 metre tall naturally grown tree, supported by an automatic belay. (6+ years, £15)

SkyWalk:  A vertical adventure course, which is built over seven towers and features 24 climbing stations. (8+ years, £30). There is also a Mini SkyWalk for 3-8 year olds.

Food and drink: Food terraces will have kiosks   serving light lunches, snacks and suppers.

There’ll be a range of refreshments on sale and of course ice creams!

There will also be a   bar which will serve a menu of cocktails and mocktails.

Complimentary activities: Other activities under the dome include a water play and sand play areas, as well as an imagination garden.

The dome’s clear span roof would easily cover an area the size of a football pitch.

The internal terrain will rise and fall in excess of 10 metres, with the aim of giving the space a genuinely organic atmosphere and a sense of being outside.

The food terrace will have lunches, snacks and suppers, while the bar will serve cocktails, mocktails, beers and other refreshments.

The cost of the build was £7.26m, and the resort estimates that it will generate £21.63m over the next 10 years.

The new dome will create 55 new jobs at the resort, with plans for the resort to have a workforce of 1,000 by next year.

William McNamara CEO and Founder of Bluestone said: "Our biggest challenge has been to create a structure this size that isn’t actually a building. When you are under the dome, it is an extraordinary place and like nothing else anyone has created before.

"Serendome is a huge investment for us and underlines our commitment to Welsh tourism. It will prove to be another exciting draw for the thousands of visitors who stay with us and experience Pembrokeshire every year."
