Blues top Canucks in OT

VANCOUVER, British Columbia. _ Brayden Schenn scored 2:41 into overtime as the St. Louis Blues came back from two goals down to beat the Vancouver Canucks 4-3 on Saturday.

Schenn extended his point streak to seven games with the goal, as he took the puck at his own blueline, skated through three defenders and put a quick shot past Vancouver goalie Anders Nilsson. It was just the second time this season the Blues won when trailing going into the third period.

It was the second straight win for the Blues, who took four points on their western Canada trip. The Blues are home on Tuesday against Edmonton.

The Blues tied the game in the third period on a goal by Joel Edmundson, his sixth of the season as he extended his career high. Paul Stastny had the assist on the goal, his third assist of the game.

The Blues also got goals from Colton Parayko and Vladimir Sobotka. It's the first time Edmundson and Parayko have scored in the same game.

The Blues gave up a goal on their own power play, then the Canucks got on a goal on a power play as Vancouver took a 3-2 lead on the Blues on Saturday night.

The Blues' struggling power play gave up a 3-on-1 break the other way that ended with Markus Granlund scoring to put the Canucks ahead 2-1.

The Canucks had a four-minute power play later in the period when Alex Pietrangelo took a double minor for high sticking and with 26 seconds to go in the penalties, Sven Baertschi put in a rebound to make it 3-1.

The Blues got a goal back on a nice wrist shot by Sobotka for his fifth goal of the season.

The Blues had two shorthanded breakaways in the period, one by Scottie Upshall and the other by Kyle Brodziak, but neither could finish. Upshall's breakaway did lead to a penalty by the Canucks, which negated a power play and will give the Blues a 10-second power play early in the third period. The Blues almost had a goal on a shot by Vladimir Tarasenko that slipped past Canucks goalie Nilsson, but Nilsson lunged behind to stop the puck.

_The Blues have added some roster insurance, summoning forward Wade Megan from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League.

"We wanted to be protected," coach Mike Yeo said. "I think we all saw Sunny block that shot. We just wanted to make sure that he was OK today, and he's fine."

Oskar Sundqvist took a shoot off the foot Thursday in Edmonton, leaving the game temporarily. He was sore Friday, making his status uncertain for the Canucks, but was a full participant in Saturday morning's skate.

"I'm all good," Sundqvist said Saturday. "Yesterday I had some doubts, but not today. Especially after this morning skate, I feel fine. I can go 100 percent. I'm happy with the work the trainers helped me with the last couple days, so I feel good."
