ST. LOUIS _ On a night when the Blues had a late start, the actual hockey team barely got started. In what ranks as one of their worst performance of the season, the Blues were dominated by an injury-ravaged Anaheim Ducks team, 3-2, Wednesday at Scottrade Center.
A season-low crowd of 16,760 watched but many left after two periods with the Blues down 3-0. On a night when Vladimir Tarasenko had no shots on goal, Kyle Brodziak's fourth and fifth goals in the final four minutes of play avoided a shutout but amounted to too little too late.
The Anaheim lineup was missing many of its top goal scorers from last season, including 30-goal scorers Patrick Eaves and Rickard Rakell.
Antoine Vermette scored two goals _ in the first and second periods _ that sandwiched Kevin Roy's second-period goal for the Ducks(11-10-4).
The Blues (17-7-1) conclude a five game homestand Friday against the Los Angeles Kings.
