Blues far from done in Origin series

Latrell Mitchell reckons the Blues will go all out to make it a clean sweep in the Origin series. (AAP)

The series may be done but NSW are far from finished in this year's State of Origin.

A comprehensive 26-0 hiding of Queensland in game two on Sunday at Suncorp Stadium ensured the Blues will hold aloft the shield regardless of the result of game three.

Having dominated the Maroons across the first two games, however, NSW are eyeing a rare 3-0 whitewash, something Queensland's great dynasty from 2006 to 2017 could only manage once.

In all, there have been just seven 3-0 results in Origin series history with NSW's last coming in 2000.

Having spent his youth watching the Maroons' dynasty dominate NSW, Blues' centre Latrell Mitchell is in no mood to relent and believes the current team have the talent to create an era of their own.

"There's a hunger there. New South Wales had lost for a very long time. As if you could beat the team that Queensland had for that period of nine years ... it was unbelievable," Mitchell said.

"Obviously as a NSW supporter you could see, we're never going to win.

"It was a credit to the New South Wales men that went out and battled every year - but this is different. We're built different. The team's built different."

Coach Brad Fittler, who captained that Blues team that swept the series in 2000, knows all too well what an achievement it would be.

"They're hard. They're not easy," he said.

After spending so long under the cosh of the Queenslanders', NSW have now won three of the past four series.

Last year's shock 2-1 loss to the Wayne Bennett-inspired Maroons is all the inspiration Mitchell and his teammates need to carry into game three, which is slated to be played in Sydney on June 14.

"Obviously, we wrapped the series up but the job's not done," he said.

"We go to game three, don't know where it's played, but we'll switch on and get the job done there."
