ST. LOUIS _ The Blues' season-long winless streak got longer Friday in a listless performance against the Winnipeg Jets. Three first-period goals pretty much sealed the deal against the Jets, who blanked the Blues, 4-0, before 18,912 at Scottrade Center.
The Blues are now 0-4-1 since beating Winnipeg, 5-2, just two weeks ago, and looked like a shell of that team Friday. Since taking a 3-0 lead into the third period Feb. 13 in Nashville, the Blues have been outscored, 13-3.
It marked the fifth time the Blues have been shut out this season, with four of them coming at Scottrade. And it was the 14th home loss this season, the most for St. Louis since the 2009-2010 season.
Goalie Jake Allen is now 2-12 over his last 14 starts, but has gotten next to no offensive support in those losses. After Friday's scoreless outing, the Blues have scored just 16 times in those 12 losses by Allen.
The Blues, clinging to the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference, fell to 34-24-4. Winnipeg, second in the Central Division, improved to 36-16-9.
Nic Petan, Blake Wheeler and Kyle Connor each scored a first-period goal for the Jets, and Patrik Laine made it 4-0 at the 6:04 mark of the second period.
