Bluemel hits budget for six

A postscript to the BBC's Children In Need, where BBC Radio 2 breakfast DJ Chris Evans' efforts to raise money for the annual appeal featured an unlikely-sounding prize – the chance to play a game of cricket alongside the likes of Andrew Flintoff, Eric Clapton and Evans himself. And the auction on the Radio 2 breakfast show on Friday had an even less likely winner – Malcolm Bluemel, the millionaire owner of digital radio station Planet Rock, who paid a cool £65,000 for the privilege. "I went way past the budget," said Bluemel. The BBC and commercial radio – in perfect harmony.
