Blue Peter star Katy Hill was 'scarred for life' after head-butting toilet

Katy Hill has shared pics of the horrific scar on her forehead after she cracked it open in a horrific accident in the bathroom.

The 49-year-old former Blue Peter presenter was left scarred for life after she tripped and head-butted the toilet, causing a two-inch gash down the middle of her forehead.

The TV star said she ended up "face-planting" the toilet after rushing her daughter to the bathroom.

Katy tripped when she caught her shoe on the stair, leaving her with a horrific cut which required a number of stitches both inside and outside and has left her marked for the rest of her life.

In pics that she shared on Instagram, Katy puts on a brave face as she revealed the extent of the damage to her followers.

Speaking about her hospitalisation to The Sun, Katy said: "It was a bad one and I was very grateful that the impact went down the centre of my forehead."

Katy revealed that she had a lucky escape as doctors told her that if it had been "either side" of where the cut was, it could be been far more damaging as "the skull is thin in those parts."

The former Blue Peter presenter earned a reputation for being a daredevil during her six years on the show from 1995, including being the first civilian to fly with the Red Arrows.

She said it was ironic that after all those stunts for the show, "I injure myself in this way."

While waiting for an ambulance at her Oxfordshire home, Katy feared “it was the end” and has now said that the accident, which happened 18 months ago, is a daily reminder to "live all out in life”.

Katy admitted: "It was such a wake-up call. None of us knows how long we’ve got, so it’s not good enough to live a 50 per cent life.”

After spending three years living in Los Angeles with husband Trey Farley, 45, who was her co-host on BBC Saturday morning show Alive and Kicking, they returned to the UK to launch a personal development and coaching business.
