COLUMBUS, Ohio _ It was remarkable and improbable.
In the span of 22 games from Dec. 9 to Jan. 22, the Blue Jackets saved a season on the brink of collapse. They won 16 games, earned 36 of 44 available points and went 16-2-4 to go from 11 points back of a playoff spot into the Eastern Conference's first wild card entering their annual mandated break, a period that for them was matched up with the NHL All-Star weekend.
Also, there were injuries. Yet as they piled up _ affecting up to 10 regulars in the lineup _ so did the victories. The Blue Jackets began finding a way in just about every game and clawed their way back into the playoff chase with 31 games to go once the schedule resumes Saturday at the Buffalo Sabres.
There were so many memorable moments that they deserve a review.
