To celebrate National Mother's Day on Aug 12, executive pastry chef Pablo Gicquel has designed a "My Heart Belongs To You" cake featuring blueberries, vanilla ganache, meringues and almond sable.
The heart-shaped cake, which is blue-coloured, symbolises the love and warmth that every mother shares with her family. The cake is priced at B1,250 and serves four. The cake has limited availability at The Mandarin Oriental Shops.
If cake doesn't catch mum's fancy, there are always other sweet treats. Since the jasmine flower is a symbolic flower for Mother's Day in Thailand, chef Gicquel has handcrafted macarons in jasmine and mandarin flavours, each piece elegantly presented in a pastel blue colour. A box of 12 macarons is priced at B840.
