A popular art shop has closed its doors forever.
Art shop Rennies in St Helens town centre closed its doors late last month, dealing customers of the popular store a blow. The closure is the latest blow to the town centre, which has seen many shops close as a cost of living crisis grips the nation.
The company also announced the closure of its Liverpool city centre store.
Announcing the closure via social media, Rennies owners said: "We would like to thank you all for your kind messages regarding the closure of Rennies Arts & Crafts Ltd, many have asked about our St Helens store and our online business.

"These will also be permanently closed tomorrow (August 27 2022), once again we would like to thank all of our customers for their support over the last 42 years, you will be missed.”
The premises is now up for let, promoted by town centre bosses as prime real estate for a potential retailer.
Saddened customers shared comments on the farewell post. One said: "You have been open for my entire life time. Thank you for all your hard work, beautiful products, artwork and advice. From school to college, work and now my own business, you’ve always been there. You’ll be greatly missed in Liverpool. All the very best to you all."
While another added: "A sad loss to everybody, staff, artists and customer alike. Good luck to you all for the next chapter."
