Blow for GAA fans as season ticket prices reportedly set for big increase

GAA fans could be served a big blow in 2022 as the GAA are reportedly planning a 25 percent hike in season ticket prices.

The GAA scrapped the season ticket programme in 2021 as uncertainty over fixtures as well as stadium capacity limits wreaked havoc on the season, but are planning to re-introduce the programme with the price increase.

The Irish Independent reports that a season ticket is now set to cost €150 - a €30 increase from the previous cost of €120. The second option, the club-plus package, will rise from €200 to €250.

The season ticket guarantees supporters entry to league games, their elected county's first Championship match as well as a chance to purchase tickets for all Championship games with €5 off each ticket except the All-Ireland final.

However, the club-plus package also offers entry to all club games within the county, including the county final.

Counties receive a €50 cut from each season ticket and €150 from club plus tickets, Mayo and Dublin are among the counties with the highest quota of season tickets allowed at 3,500.
