Strathaven Park has once again been awarded a highly-coveted Green Flag.
It is among 71 Scottish parks to be presented with a Green Flag Award this year by environmental charity, Keep Scotland Beautiful.
The local beauty spot has picked-up the award on a number of occasions.
The award acts as a benchmark for recreational outdoor space and celebrates well maintained parks and green spaces and supports the opportunities that they provide to enable exercise, improve mental wellbeing and provide safe spaces for play.
Cambuslang Park and Castlebank Park in Lanark were also given the coveted award.
Alistair McKinnon, head of facilities, waste and grounds at South Lanarkshire Council said: “The council’s Grounds Services teams have been working with the people and groups from the local communities and South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture to continuously improve the already-high standards within the parks so we are delighted to have all three awarded Green Flag status once again.
“This award is the benchmark for quality green space and we would not have achieved it for our parks without the efforts of every person who has been involved.
“This shows how excellent partnership working, with the emphasis on the involvement of the community, can make a huge and very effective difference.
“I am delighted for all those involved that their hard work and diligence has brought such just rewards.”
