Lockdown has got us binge-watching new series like they're going out of fashion so it's a good job there's a new drama on the scene.
Bloodlands is BBC One's latest crime thriller set to fill the void left by the captivating The Serpent.
It stars James Nesbitt in the lead role of as DCI Tom Brannick and the four-part series begins on Sunday, February 21, at 9pm.
Bloodlands follows DCI Brannick who is on the hunt for the legendary assassin known as "Goliath", after a car containing a possible suicide note is pulled out of Strangford Lough.
The synopsis for the new drama reads: "When a car containing a possible suicide note is pulled out of Strangford Lough, DCI Tom Brannick quickly connects it to an infamous cold case with enormous personal significance.
"Bloodlands follows his dogged hunt for a legendary assassin, an explosive cat-and-mouse game where the stakes have never been higher..."

So, who makes up the cast of Bloodlands?
As already mentioned, James Nesbitt takes the lead as DCI Tom Brannick.
The 56-year-old Northern Irish actor is famed for his role Adam Williams in the romantic comedy-drama series Cold Feet.
James has also starred as Bofur in The Hobbit film series, as Tony Hughes in the acclaimed BBC One drama series The Missing and and Ivan Cooper in the television film Bloody Sunday - to name but a few.
Also starring in Bloodlands is stage actress Lisa Dwan who plays Tori Matthews.

In terms of TV role, in 2019 Lisa played Lizzie in Top Boy and appeared in American drama television, Trust, the year before.
Charlene McKenna, who plays DS Niamh McGovern, became a household name in her native Ireland when she played Jennifer in the television series Pure Mule in 2005.

She has since appeared in other dramas and TV series including Merlin, Misfits, Ripper Street and Vienna Blood.
Also among the cast are Derry Girls stars Ian McElhinney and Kathy Kiera Clarke, Happy Valley's Susan Lynch and The Bill and The Dig's Lorcan Cranitch.

Bloodlands is Chris Brandon's first original drama series commission and the first drama from newly formed production company HTM Television whose executive producers include Jed Mercurio.
Mercurio is the writer behind TV dramas Line of Duty, Bodyguard and Bodies.
