Bloodlands: How to watch the new Northern Ireland crime thriller

BBC's newest drama which is set to have audiences hooked is Bloodlands, a Northern Ireland crime thriller which stars James Nesbitt in the leading role.

The show is executive produced by Jed Mercurio, maker of Line of Duty, and was filmed around Strangford Lough and the surrounding areas.

A description teasing the show's release reads: "When a car containing a possible suicide note is pulled out of Strangford Lough, DCI Tom Brannick ( James Nesbitt - The Missing, Cold Feet) quickly connects it to an infamous cold case with enormous personal significance.

" Bloodlands follows his dogged hunt for a legendary assassin, an explosive cat-and-mouse game where the stakes have never been higher..."

Speaking about the show, executive producer Jed Mercurio said: "Audiences should expect a compelling cat-and-mouse thriller led by a riveting performance from James Nesbitt and a thought-provoking drama exploring the balance between seeking justice for past crimes and protecting present-day peace."

The show will air its first episode on BBC One on Sunday, February 21 at 9pm.

It will continuing airing weekly, with three more episodes in the series.

Episodes will be made available on BBC iPlayer.
