'Blood splattered all over the pavement': Neighbours describe scene near police cordon in Moston

Neighbours have described seeing blood on the pavement close to a police cordon in north Manchester.

Officers and several police vehicles were photographed on the corner of Bluestone Road and Kenyon Lane, in Moston, on Wednesday morning (November 18).

The M.E.N has contacted Greater Manchester Police for details but has not yet received any information.

Several officers were stationed at the scene, not far from St Dunstan’s Parish Centre.

Police have also been examining a red Ford car and a blue Citroen Xsara which has been damaged at the rear.

One mum told the M.E.N that she was returning home from the school run this morning when she walked through a puddle of blood.

She said: “I’m not sure what's happened but I was on my way back from doing the school run.

“Bluestone Road and Kenyon Lane were cordoned off by police, they were just taking the blue and white tape down.

“I just walked through a blood splatter on the pavement and a small pool of blood.

“It’s left me really unsettled because we don’t know what’s happened.

“I wonder what the hell has gone on.”

She added: “I thought it should have been taped off but I just walked through it without realising until it was too late.”

The neighbour said she saw around eight police officers in the area.

She said: “There were two police cars on the corner of Kenyon Road and Bluestone Road.

“It was a big police presence.

“I was really shocked to be honest.

“It’s a pretty quiet area usually. We’ve had two really sad incidents recently, two young people who have died, but usually it’s a quiet place.”

Another neighbour said they could hear “fighting” on Bluestone Road in the early hours, at around 2am.

“There’s blood pads of blood going down Kenyon Lane up to the school,” they said.

“There’s loads of police and a red car is smashed up near the school and more police on Lightbowne Road at a house as well.”
