Blood-soaked man stumbles into shopping centre for help after Paisley street attack

A man covered in blood after being attacked in the street stumbled into a Paisley shopping centre for help on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old was assaulted in Gauze Street and was then aided by security staff at the Piazza Shopping Centre, around 3.30pm on June 2.

The victim is believed to have been in an argument with another man, reports the Paisley Daily Express.

He was checked over by paramedics but did not require hospital treatment.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward as they look to trace a suspect believed to be in his 30s.

Inspector Tracy Harkins, from Paisley's community policing team, said: "A 30-year-old man was assaulted by another male in Gauze Street around 3.30pm on Tuesday.

"The victim suffered a laceration to has face in the incident and sought help in the nearby Piazza Shopping Centre.

"We are appealing to anyone who my have been in the area and witnessed the attack to come forward.

"Despite lockdown restrictions, it is likely people would have been around and may have saw what happened.

"If you have any information at all in relation to this incident please contact police."
