Blood on street as police close road amid reports of crash in south Manchester

Police swarmed a street in south Manchester on Wednesday evening amid reports of a crash. Wilmslow Road in Fallowfield was closed following the incident with a heavy police presence at the scene.

Blood and debris was seen on the floor as officers guided drivers away from the chaotic scenes. An ambulance was also pictured, outside the Friendship Inn pub with paramedics also on hand.

There are currently unconfirmed reports of a crash occurring late on Wednesday night (November 9). The number of people involved or nature of any injuries has not been confirmed.

Busy Wilmslow Road was closed off for a short while, before the scene was later cleared and the road reopened. Onlookers reported seeing a person be wheeled into the back of an ambulance on a stretcher.

Pictures taken at the scene show the heavy emergency services presence at the scene in the aftermath of the incident.

Greater Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance Service have been approached for further details on the incident.
