Terrified and confused shoppers witnessed a gruesome brawl between two women in a shopping centre on the afternoon of July 11.
The conflict broke out shortly before 2:45pm, with witnesses to the violent altercation stating that there was "blood and hair everywhere" as the two women beat lumps out of one another.
The fight occurred at a Dealz store in the Omni Shopping Centre in Santry, Dublin.
According to Dublin Live, one customer stated: “Three men were trying to pull two grown women apart and there were children screaming.
“They were absolutely battering each other – there was blood and hair everywhere.
“Eventually the fight stopped and then one of them said something and it all kicked off again – it was just awful.”
Staff at the store managed to guide customers out to safety and no major damage was caused to the store although the decision was taken to close for the rest of the day.
A Gardaí spokesman has stated that investigations into the incident are ongoing.
He said: "Gardaí are investigating an assault that took place in a retail premises in Dublin 9, shortly before 2:45pm yesterday afternoon, Sunday July 11. No arrests have been made, investigations are ongoing."
A Dealz spokeswoman said: "There was an altercation in between two female customers in Omni yesterday afternoon which appears unrelated to the store.
"The matter is now in the hands of the Gardaí and we’re providing every assistance as they investigate precisely what happened.
"No other customers or colleagues were hurt or involved and the store is open as usual today."
