Blocked sewer pollutes beauty spot as visitors warned to stay out of water

A South Gloucestershire's beauty spot has been polluted by a blocked sewer.

Three Brooks Nature Local Reserve, in Bradley Stoke, has been contaminated following a sewer overflowing.

The incident was discovered on Friday, August 27, by a member of the South Gloucestershire Council StreetCare team and has now been reported to the Environment Agency.

Signs were put up at the lake to make visitors aware of the pollution over the last few days.

Wessex Water has since stopped the source of pollution and are working with the Environment Agency to aerate the lake, clear the contamination and monitor the situation.

Workers at South Gloucestershire Council Street Care team are currently advising people visiting the nature reserve to keep their dogs away from the water until the pollution is cleared.
